Biomass Group
Mr. Chen Yong (Senior Research Fellow, Director
of Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion,
Chinese Academy of Sciences) presided the first
half of Biomass Group.
Mr. Zhou Fengqi (Senior Research fellow Director
of China Project Office For Renewable Energy
Industrialized Development) presided the second
half of Biomass Group.

Prof. Expedito Parente (TECBIO,
Brazil), gave an address entitled "Development of Lipofuel:
Biokerosene and Biodiesel and its Application in Brazil",
introduced the global view of biomass energies and the Brazilian
Programme of the Alcohol. The Program will have to eradicate
the agricultural misery in the North (Amazon region) and Northeast
(arid region), expect that the culture of short cycle is substituted
by permanent cultures and try to construct a energy forest
with native oil been plants in the Amazon region where about
200 million hectares of deforested lands are degrading. Finally,
he elaborated the BIODIESEL MACHINE of TECBIO, a portable
system of 2000 liters a day and its application. |

Ms. Kelly King (Pacific Biodiesel Inc.,
USA) gave an report entitled "Community-Based Biodiesel
Production and its Application", introducing the application
of Pacific Biodiesel in producing biodiesel from used cooking
oil, virgin oil feedstocks, tallow, fish oil, and other rendered
animal fats with community-scale for the usage in trucking
flees, tour buses,private vehicles,generators,charter boats,
etc., which benefits the community in waste reduction and
diversion, local economy, direct jobs and new industries,
and technology exporting, worldwide recognition for Hawaii.

Mr. Wang Mengjie(Research Fellow,Beijing
Luhengyi Center for Energy Technology Development, Beijing
TTD Energy Technology R&D Ltd.,China), introduced an
energy crop named" Chuntian Series"Sweet Sorghum
Seeds, an outcome of the project of
China State 863 Plan. His presentation, entitled "the
Energy Crop-Sweet Sorghum Breeding and Bioethanol Conversion
Technology" described the Sweet sorghum plantation
in Heilongjiang Provingce in the year 2004 and in Liaoning
Province in 2005, compared Sweet Sorghum with Bulrush in
salt march, analyzed the economical index of producing bioethanol
with sweet sorghum, and equipments and plant developed for
the production.

Mr. Wu Chuangzhi ,Research Fellow(Deputy
Director General of Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion,
Chinese Academy of Sciences) China,spoke on Biomass Gasification
Electricity Generation and Its Industrialized Application
Model.

Mr. Liao Zhengming (Inventor) gave a
presentation entitled The Employment of Ultrasonic Emulsification
Technology to Adopt the Bio-fuel Substitute Petroleum in
automobiles to introduce his research in ultrasonic emulsification
technology and discuss the trend of replace fossil fuel
with ethanol and the significance of ultrasonic emulsification
of fuel. He focused in No.95 ethanol emulsification, its
application and installations, and predicted the use of
pure ethanol fuel automobile.

Mr. Li Yiran (Wuhan Zhonglian New Energy
Co., Ltd., China) gave a presentation entitled A Cascading
Method of City Waste Disposal. He started with the process
of the method, which utilizes the organic city waste for ferment
and biogas, and burning the garbage with the gas. He emphasized
the business mode of the application by producing byproducts
besides its advantages in more complete treatment of city
waste. |
