Energy and environment is becoming the worldwide common concerned hot issue. “Energy and Environment - Special Promotion on Outstanding BlueSky Award Winning Technologies” Workshop was held in 26th May, 2010 during the UNDIO Week at the Shanghai Expo. This workshop was sponsored by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and organized by Shenzhen International Technology Promotion Center for Sustainable Development (ITPC). It was a prestigious international event involved by multinational RE technologies and investment specialists, representatives from government administrations, universities, research institutes, as well as public and private sectors and Medias.

Mr. Edward Clarence-Smith, UNIDO Representative and Head of UNIDO Regional office , Prof.YAN Luguang, Member of Chinese Academy of Science, Chairman of BlueSky Award Expert Evaluation Committee (BA-EEC), Prof. Edgar Schicker, University for Applied Sciences of Nuremberg, Germany, Deputy Chairman of BA-EEC, Ms YU Jing, Director of Power Assets Management Department of Shenzhen Energy Group addressed the workshop. Dr. YU Yuanqi, Deputy Director of ITPC, gave a presentation of introduction and review of BlueSky Award Activity. Mr. WANG Zhen, UNIDO officials, chaired the roundup review. Participants speak highly of the effect of BlueSky Award activities in promoting renewable energy and green industry development.
Nine outstanding BlueSky Award winning technologies from home and abroad promote themselves through this international platform of UNIDO Week. Background of BlueSky Award
BlueSky Award Evaluation of Global Top Investment Scenarios to Apply New Technologies for Renewable Energy Utilization is directed by UNIDO, sponsored by Shenzhen Energy Group with ITPC as organizer. This programme is based on the collection and evaluation of global leading technologies in the field of renewable energy every two years. The aim of the award is to lead the industrialized utilization of renewable energy in China and other developing countries through the model effect of winning technologies so as to relax the stress on global economy and human life produced by conventional energy shortage and environmental deterioration. These renewable energy technologies will provide technical support for Low-carbon Economy development. Since 2005, ITPC held three sessions of BlueSky Award activity. Hundreds of renewable energy technologies from 26 countries applied for BlueSky Award. 28 technologies won the BlueSky Award and 32 technologies won the Nominee Prizes. These winning technologies have been applied very well world widely. The successful practice prove that BlueSky Award build a diversified international dialogue and exchange platform and play a positive role in promoting the combination of renewable energy technology research and industrialization for cost-effective ways.
