    2009 BlueSky Award Announced

    On the afternoon of 2009 November 17th, the result of the Third BlueSky Award was announced after the evaluation of the BlueSky Award Evaluation Committee. Ten technologies including “Preparation and Application of CIGS Thin Film Solar Cell by Single Target Sputtering” of NANOWIN TECH. CO., Ltd. from China Taiwan won the award. Madam Liang Dan, Director of Investment and Technology Promotion Branch of UNIDO, Mr. Yan Luguang, chairman of 2009 BlueSky Award Evaluation Expert Committee, vice chairman Prof. Edgar Schicker, and Mr. Gao Zimin, chairman of UNIDO-ITPC, general manager of Shenzhen Energy Group, presented the awards to the winners. Another ten technologies including “Municipal Garbage Incineration via Cement Kiln (CKK Technology” of Conch Kawasaki Engineering Co., Ltd., a China-Japan joint venture, won the Nomination Award.

      

     

      

    About 50 technology candidates from many countries applied for this year’s BlueSky Award. After a strict evaluation and selection, 20 technologies from the USA, Australia, Japan, Philippines, China and China Taiwan were qualified for the final competition. The technologies covered fields including solar energy, wind energy, ocean energy, and biomass energy.
     
    The Evaluation Expert Committee of this year’s BlueSky Award has nine members. Five of them are from China, and the other four are from Germany, UK and USA. All members are renowned experts and investment specialists in the field of renewable energy.
     
    The evaluation work of this year’s BlueSky Award lasted about one year and has received active participation and wide concern of people from all walks of life. Madam Liang Dan, Director of Investment and Technology Promotion Branch of UNIDO said that renewable energy has offered technical support to the development of low-carbon economy.
