On 29^th March, Consulate Mona Ip from the Canadian Consulate General in Guangzhou, along with Ms. Zhang Zhengzheng, the Chief Delegate of the Canadian Trading Development Commission, Shenzhen Branch visited ITPC, and discussed about energy and environment.

Dr. Yu Yuanqi, the Deputy Project Director of ITPC, presented the history of ITPC including vast amount of work concerning energy conservation, renewable resources, the BlueSky Award, etc. He also introduced the future of renewable energy utilization in China, along with cooperation with Canada on CDM project.

Consulate Mona Ip talked about the recognition of environmental conservation by Canadian government and the past related projects and colloquia. According to her, Natural Resources Canada is an important organization in this area, which has co-developed a multiple of energy conservation projects with China. Consulate Ip also referred to the initiative on the Clean Development Mechanism and Joint-Implementation Project of the Canadian Private Sector.

Both sides also discussed about future cooperation of research and projects.
