ITPC attend Meeting OF GIEC on EU Project
Invited by the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dr. Yu Yuanqi, Deputy Director of UNIDO-ITPC, attended the colloquium with Denmark corporations in Guangzhou.
The experts from Denmark sought to find cooperation in identifying feasible CMD projects via the EU's 6th Frame Programme, as well as a thorough understanding in the development of bio-fuel and waste treatment.
Dr. Liao Cuiping, the Research Director of Strategic Energy Research Centre, Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, introduced the institute and the progress of various projects including some Chinese CDM projects. Li Haibin, who is a member of the Biomass Team of the institute, introduced the feature and application of Biomass Gasification Electricity Generation technique.
Mr. Lars Moller, the Chief Counselor of Energy Consulting Network, Denmark introduced the work on energy auditing by the company. He also talked about the consulting service the company did for the Thai Government on energy conservation reconstructions over the years. Mr. Peter Laursen, a manager of a waste treatment company, Babcock & Wilcox Volund introduced the Waste Incineration to Power Generation Technique as well as the relevant policies in Denmark.
Dr. Yu Yuanqi presented the progress of Shenzhen Energy Group's Waste Incineration Electricity Generation Project, along with the BlueSky Award of ITPC, European Energy Manager Training Program, etc. He also introduced the policies relevant to waste treatment in Shenzhen.
The experts also went on a field trip on the same day to local enterprises.
