Invited by Bureau of Development and Reform of Shenzhen Municipality, a US Solar Energy visiting delegation headed by Mr. He Ping, president of International Fund for China’s Environment and Mr. Micheal Eckhart, Director of executive board of the United States of America Renewable Energy Council visited Shenzhen on 31st October.
The delegates came from the POWER LIGHT (solar electric systems), Solaria, Piper Jaffray & Co., Gulf Coast Environmental, Advent Solar, National Wildlife Federation, etc. As Mr. Micheal Eckhart introduceed, this is the first time the US solar energy calling to assign such as a scope visiting delegation to China. The US Solar Energy visiting delegation hopes for this activity to investigate China Solar energy industry in development policy, environment and investment condition. They also look for prospective cooperation.
Bureau of Development and Reform of Shenzhen Municipality organized Shenzhen Solar Energy Society and representatives from local industry to have an informal colloquium with the delegation in Civic Centre. Dr. Yu Yuanqi, Vice Director from UNIDO-ITPC introduced the technology promotion effort of the centre and specially introduced the BlueSky Award. The visiting delegation expressed great interest and admiration and expressed their will to get involved in the campaign.
Mr. Shenyi from Bureau of Development and Reform of Shenzhen Municipality discussed with the delegates the possibility of set up a pilot project with US solar power sectors in Shenzhen.
In the afternoon, Shenzhen Topray Solar Co.,Ltd, Gianteam Solar Energy Co.,Ltd, Shenzhen TRONY Solar Science &Technology Development Co., Ltd and Shenzhen Jiawei Industries Co.,Ltd invited the delegation for a site visit.
The delegation had previously visited Shanghai and the 1 MW photovoltaic prototype project at China International Garden and Flower Exposition in Shenzhen.
