UNIDO celebrated its fortieth anniversary in Vienna on 28 November 2006 with a special event co-hosted by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the City of Vienna at the Austria Center Vienna, which was attended by over 1,200 guests. To mark UNIDO's fortieth anniversary celebrations, a special programme was prepared: A morning ceremony featured short statements from high-level representatives of the Austrian Government as well as other dignitaries, including former executive heads of UNIDO.
