Sino-German Cooperation Memorandum of Guizhou Small Tungoiltree Biodiesel Project signed
Sino-German Cooperation Memorandum of Guizhou Small Tungoiltree Biodiesel Project was signed among Guizhou Provincial Committee of Development and Reform, Guizhou Department of Science and Technology, Lurgi Chemical Co., Ltd. and Deutsche Energy Agent Co., Ltd. (DENA) in the coordination of Deutsch-Chinese Cooperation Bureau for Industry and Trade Co., Ltd. on November 26th, 2005.
The objective of the Memorandum is to "realize the first demonstrational project of industrialized production of biodiesel with small tungoiltree seeds as raw material in Guizhou Province of China through partnership of the two countries."
General Manager of DENA said the research of utilizing small tungoiltree seeds for biodiesel has attracted interested cooperators in Germany, British, India and other countries.
Guizhou Univrsity has established a total area of 67 hectares of fast growing and high yielding tung tree field based on its research in several counties with financial support of local government, according to Prof. Song Baoan, Vice-chancellor of the university, and the turnout and oiliness gets a highest record in the world.
This project, as reported by local newspaper, will have big impact on the province in conservation of moisture and soil and environmental protection, increase of jobs and income, contribution to local finance and development of medicine and chemical industry based on byproducts of production.
