Renewable Energy Investment Group
Mr. Zhou Runguo (Chairman of Supervision Board
of Shenzhen Energy Group) presided the first
half of Renewable Energy Investment Group.
Prof. Sanguan Lewmanomont,Trademark Appeal Board,
Ministry of Commerce, Dean of Yonok Law School,
Thailand,presided the second half of Renewable
Energy Investment Group.

Mr. Jiang HaoXiang (Environmental
Business Manager, Det Norske Veritas Certification China)
gave a presentation entitled Investment opportunities for
your CDM project. He reviewed the UNFCCC objectives and The
Kyoto Protocol for controlling the emission of green house
gas while introduced Clean Development Mechanism and its purpose.
He then explained CDM in its project cycle, Project Eligibility,
baseline and additionality, its flow-chart approach, and in
specific its Validation including the approved methodologies,
SSC projects categories and the validation process. Finally
he analysed the cost and benefits of CDM projects, and shared
the experience of DNV in CDM project validation. |

Prof. Sanguan Lewmanomont(Trademark Appeal
Board, Ministry of Commerce, Dean of Yonok Law School, Thailand)was
invited to spoke in a different angle, the knowledge property
right. In his presentation entitled EU- Intellectual Property
Law: Knowledge Property Right Protection, he started
from the enforcement actions available to IP owners. He then
discussed the counterfeiting in Asia, and EU -the Green Paper
on combating counterfeiting and piracy in the single market,
its tool-box and enforcement at the community borders as well
as cooperation with third countries, criminal registration
and enforcement in the IP field. He ended the address with
the trend that enforcement and further harmonization of IP
laws. |

Mr. Tao Guangyuan (Chief Representative
of Beijing Office, Deutsch-Chinese Economic and Trade Cooperation
Center) gave a presentation entitled Opportunity, Risk and
Return Analysis on Investment into Renewable Energy in China.
He pointed out the huge potential of China market of energy
efficiency and renewable energy and the determinative factors
of the result of such investment. He discussed that different
projects of renewable energy may differ in investment scale,
return cycle and style, profitability and risk. He also introduced
different types of renewable energy sources investment and
analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of exploiting renewable
energy in China. |

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Edgar Schicker (Professor
of Berlin University, University of Applied Sciences, Germany)
was invited to give a presentation entitled Energy from
Renewable Sources: its Development and Utilization under Consideration
of the Special Conditions in Germany. He reviewed Germany's
promotion of electricity from renewable energy sources and
shared statistic figures of the development of different kind
of renewable energy to demonstrate the political impact on
technological development. He concluded Germany's power supply
situation is significantly different from that in developing
countries and the results achieved cannot be easily transferred
to other countries, stated that the overall power supply has
to be considered as an integrated whole together with the
renewable energy and energy saving is of equal importance
of developing renewable energy, and compared German Renewable
Energy Sources Act with Renewable Energy Law of the PRC.

Mr. Zhao Xiao (Senior Engineer,General Engineer
of Shenzhen Energy Group, Manager of Shenzhen PSPS, China)
was invited to introduce the development of Pumped Storage
Power Station Project in Shenzhen. In his presentation entitled
Pumped Storage Power Generation Technology and Project Investment
Analysis, he gave a birds view on the pumped storage resource
in China, development of pumped storage power station, its
function in load valiation and the necessity of its construction.
He focused on the Pumped Storage Power Station Project in
Shenzhen, which has completed feasibility research and prepared
to individual items construction. He then compared the operation
and management of pumped storage power stations in and emphasized
the protection of investor, grid system operator and user
from government in the sustainable development of pumped water
storage power station. |
